"An experienced person vs. an expert"

A person who has been engaged in a job for a long time is the one we call experienced. An experienced person has a great deal of knowledge about that job. There's correct knowledge and incorrect knowledge. The problem is that we may not know which is correct and which is wrong. An expert is the experienced person who is always furnishing his knowledge with facts, reflecting on that knowledge and making corrections.Unfortunately, persons with experience are not necessarily true experts. What they "know" may not be so. They can become encumbrances who bear superstitions if not fortified with knowledge. We have to work diligently to find true knowledge. How many of us are "experts" and how many merely "experienced persons"? Have we complemented our experience with expertise?
